Research Insights ✨

During research analysis, researchers are frustrated about the time-consuming manual re-watching process to find themes and user quotes, and they are actively seeking for faster solutions.

It’s a very tedious process. It takes time to tease through each interview and find common themes and supporting quotes

— Fiona, UX research lead at a health startup

After research analysis, researchers are tired of manually copying quotes and editing video clips by themselves, but they didn’t find great solutions yet.

It takes time to copy and paste quotes, find a specific timestamp and cut the video clips, and include them into the presentation

— Josh, UX researcher at a software company

Learnings 📝

This was my first time leading a 0-1 product from scratch to launch, and I learned tremendously about…

  • Cross-functional Alignment: When making a product decision or prioritizing a feature, it is wise to align with designers and engineers and explain the reasoning behind it.

  • Leadership Skills: a great leader motivates the team to build what they believe in. A great leader also knows everyone’s strengths and allocates tasks accordingly.

  • Constraint Management: It is normal to face time, budget, and talent constraints for early-stage start-ups. Identifying these constraints early and making feature prioritization is crucial for product development.
